Don’t F*#k the Customer.

Up your service game with this mantra. Someone close to me works for a company that has the internal mandate to staff of ‘Don’t Fuck the Customer! …

Meenu Kaushal

An interesting blog Meenu, that gives the reader a lot to think about.

An interesting blog Meenu, that gives the reader a lot to think about. I thought your anecdote regarding the work placement student, at your workplace, almost being caught out by a scam, was a great inclusion -many of us would not have considered how the culturally and linguistically diverse may be targeted with such specificity as to use Home Affairs to extort money. Thank you for drawing attention to that. I think your blog and your argument in general would be greatly supported by some links to information you have mentioned, for example the Guardian documentary 'Power of Privacy'. All your fellow students have probably watched it, but other Medium readers might be interested so a link would be helpful.

Lost in Linkedin Land

A cautionary tale — There are a lot of things I wish I had known in the 90’s, bread makes you fat for example, Sydney property values would quadruple, and one simple truth that would have made the last couple of weeks easier — the importance of networking. There is no question that the…

As a mum you had me in the first sentence Sophie.

As a mum you had me in the first sentence Sophie. I don't envy young mums and that barrage of unrealistic ideals the 'mummy blogger' influencers spew at every opportunity. Facebook was really only just becoming a thing when my kids were babies and I don't think Insta existed. …

Your blog is great Carl Huby.

Your blog is great Carl Huby. I thought it struck a perfect balance between the information and the personal narrative. You hooked me with that first sentence 'You just became a completely different person', and I wanted to see where you were going with that. I spent years in customer service and always found it hilarious the instant change that would occur when that call was picked up, not just my my speech, which became suddenly very serious, but my pitch would drop, my body would position itself in a different way and suddenly the space around me became smaller. I found the research you referenced regarding identity awareness and its impact on children particularly interesting. It really highlights that the premise that identity is often about how we are the same rather how we are different.

Who am I?

How a simple question caused an identity crisis. — It seemed like a fairly straight forward request, create a map of my identity and answer the question, ‘How will my identity change over the next few years?’ It should have been easy, and apparently it should have taken approximately 20 minutes. …
